can you buy replacement parts for a fiber optic christmas village that no longer works and where? I have a 16" christmas village chapel that the fiber optic bulb keeps burning out as soon as I replace it. Can this be fixed and if so how and where can this be purchased?
Is there a company that makes a custom Christmas village house? In 2003 my parents did a major renovation to their home - new siding, a wrap-around porch, landscaping, etc. My father passed away that December, and never got to see the completed product. This year, for Christmas for my mom, I'd like to find someone who could take pictures of the house (I would provide) and create a ceramic Christmas village house (the kind that has the light inside). I could provide measurements and all, but I can't seem to find anyone who can do this (and I'd be surprised if SOMEONE wasn't doing this out there in the world). My mom has several of these houses that she puts up every Christmas, and it would be great to have one that looked just like the house. Obviously cost is an issue, but I know a custom piece won't be inexpensive. I really just want to find a company or individual who can do this. Please, serious responses only. Thanks for your help! Where can I get those plaster christmas village houses that you paint yourself? No longer at Walmart/Michaels.? Christmas Villages Collection? It's approaching that Holiday time again. I display the Christmas Villages mainly Dept 56 and Lemax. Last year I started to decorate Thanksgiving Weekend and just didn't have enough time and thought I didn't do a good job. When does everyone else start displaying. I have about 40 buildings not including accessories and will be adding at least 10 this year. My family think anything earlier then Thanksgiving is to early for Decorating, but they don't understand the hard work.

What is the best (and easiest) way to create water in my miniature Christmas village? Each year I struggle with how to represent rivers, streams and even an ocean or bay in the Department 56 Dickens' Village display under my tree. I've gone without any water before, but it makes the bridges, lighthouse and lock keeper look rather odd and out of place... Everything so far sounds great, but I'm looking for something quick and not-so-permanent because I disassemble my village after each Christmas, and when I re-assemble it the next year it's always slightly different. I've tried the blue plastic wrap in the past, but I find the color isn't quit right... it's a bit too pastel.

Montgomery Ward Christmas village set, post WWII? I've got this old, pressed paper Christmas village set that my dad found at a garage sale a few years ago. Personally, I love it. I'm just curious to know if it might be worth anything. Here's what I know about it: -Dad thinks it's from the early 1950s, but he's not sure, and there's no date on the box. -original box. Plain brown cardboard bottom, and the lid is red and white stripped with a dark green label printed on it that says "Lighted Village Deluxe, Made Exclusivly for Montgomery Ward". Box is a bit rough around the edges- what looks like a water stain on the bottom, and all four corners of the lid are split. -Whole set is there- 8 houses, the church, a mansion/village hall, 12 pine cone snow men, and judging by the plug, I think it's got the original lights. All in perfect condition- none of the windows are broken, colors are all bright. Doesn't even look like it's been taken out of the box. Anyone here have an idea what it might be worth, if anything? Thanks!!

Am I missing anything? What would make it better?

Does anyone have any suggestions about putting up a Christmas tree with a cat in the house? This is our first Christmas with a new kitten (9 months old) and a new puppy (5 months old). I enjoy Christmas by putting up our Christmas tree and underneath the tree a Christmas village. However, we're afraid the kitten will climb in the tree and knock it down, then the puppy will get into the ornaments, ect. I can live without putting the Christmas village out, but does anyone have any suggestions on putting the tree up without this disaster happening?

Then i found the Department 56 stuff which is lovely, and I would be able to build my collection up year by year but every website I go to only ships to the US. How irritating. christmas village with bears? Desperate!? I had a Christmas village when I was young that meant a great deal to me! It had bear figurines and a church that could hold a tea-light candle, a little bear that played violin, carolers, etc. It was from the late 80's to early 90's and I CANNOT find it anywhere. Christmas village merry-go-round? My neice has a miniature Christmas village, and while we were putting it up, I accidentally dropped the merry-go-round and broke it. I told her I would find a replacement but I'm having trouble finding one as smal as hers, it stood less than 6" high. Does anybody know of anyplace to find a similar one, I've tried walmart where she got them a few years ago, but they no longer carry the miniature villages, any help would be appreciated.
