how to prepare for christmas trip to hawaii?
i'm wondering what my husband and i can expect as far a flying, like how early to get to airport, what we can and can't take, can we put locks on our luggage? what is allowable on carry on bag like a camcorder and cell phone or medication?

i fly around the US at least once a month on business. tourists should be at the airport at least two hours early. I try to be there even earlier during high traffic times, like the holidays. Many airlines overbook based upon the law of no-shows. This means others get "bumped" to a later flight. Most often, they also give you a free ticket for later use - if you're lucky.
Be sure not to carry any bombs, firearms, or liquids. Do not wrap any gifts. Do not wear hollow heeled shoes. And be sure the kids don't scream the word "Mommy has a bomb." I guarantee you will have a memory you'd rather forget.
