- No it doesn't have a lot of rides. If you are looking for a Christmas/snow type atmosphere, you won't get it in the summer time. Spend your money someplace else.
- i live in new hampshire. i went there once when i was i think 6 or 7. it was kinda fun. but it is probably too young for your child.
- Santa's Village and Story Land are sort of first generation amusement parks. It's nothing like a modern amusement park, such 6 Flags or Disney.
If you were going to be in the Washington Valley area anyway with a 9 year old - and looking for something to do, it wouldn't be bad. You might think it's a little corny. There won't be much else to do with a 9 year old, unless she is into rock climbing, hiking, swimming in a motel pool.
If you want an amusement part closer to Boston, there is a 6 Flags near Springfield, MA or there is Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH (the closest of the two). Canobie Lake Park is sub-rate as compared to Six Flags, but just about perfect for a 9 year old girl.
I have teenage girls, they like Canobie. You couldn't have paid them to ride a roller coaster when they were 9, but they would brave the ones at Canobie.
Another option is Water Country in Portsmouth, NH. My girls have always loved that place.
Portsmouth, NH ~1 hour north of Boston off I-95
Salem, NH ~45min north of Boston off I-93
N. Conway (Santa's Village) ~1.5 hours north of Portsmouth, NH on NH State Route 16.
